Delete your Kidora account or data
You can delete your Kidora account and everything in it at any time. The fastest way is in the app under Profile, then Delete account. If you cannot open the app, email [email protected] from your registered address and we will do it for you. You can also delete specific data without closing your account.
Kidora is published on Google Play by Abdullah. This page covers both the Kidora app and the Kidora website.
Deleting removes your account, your children's profiles, every assessment answer and every activity record. It cannot be undone once the grace period ends.
How to delete your account in the app
Open the Kidora app, go to Profile, tap Delete account, and confirm. Your account is deactivated immediately and permanently deleted after a 30 day grace period, during which signing back in will cancel the deletion.
- Open the Kidora app and sign in.
- Tap Profile.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read what will be removed, then confirm.
You will get a confirmation email. Your account stops working straight away. If you change your mind inside the grace period, sign back in and the deletion is cancelled.
How to request deletion by email
Email [email protected] from the address you signed up with, asking us to delete your account. We reply within 3 working days and complete the deletion within 30 days. You do not have to give a reason.
Use this route if you have uninstalled the app, cannot sign in, or would rather not do it yourself.
Send it from the email address on the account. That is how we confirm the request is really yours. If you cannot use that address, tell us and we will ask you something else only you would know, such as your child's first name and age band as entered in the app. We will not delete an account on the word of someone we cannot verify, because doing so would let anyone erase your child's records.
What to put in the email
Subject: Account deletion request. In the body, say that you want your Kidora account and all associated data deleted, and confirm you are the account holder. Nothing else is needed.
How to delete data without deleting your account
You do not have to close your account to remove data. In the app you can delete a single child's profile, clear their assessment history, or delete daily logs such as sleep, meals and nappies, while keeping your account and your other children.
Three separate things can be removed on their own.
Delete one child's profile and records
- Open the Kidora app and tap Profile.
- Select the child you want to remove.
- Tap Delete this child and confirm.
This removes that child's name, age, assessment answers, results, activity history and daily logs. Your account and any other children stay exactly as they were.
Delete assessment history but keep the profile
- Open the child's profile.
- Tap Assessment history.
- Tap Clear history and confirm.
The child stays in your account and you can run a new check whenever you like. Past answers and past reports are removed.
Delete daily logs
- Open the child's profile and tap Logs.
- Choose a date range, or select All logs.
- Tap Delete and confirm.
This removes sleep, nap, meal and nappy records for that period. Assessment results are not affected.
Prefer to ask us?
Email [email protected] from your registered address and say exactly what you want removed, for example "delete all sleep and meal logs for my daughter" or "delete my older child's profile". We reply within 3 working days and complete it within 30 days. Your account stays open.
Anything deleted this way follows the same timings as a full account deletion: gone from live systems within 30 days and from encrypted backups within 90 days.
What gets deleted
Deletion removes your account and login details, every child profile, all assessment answers and results, activity and progress records, daily logs such as sleep, meals and nappies, and your place on any email list.
| Data | What happens | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| Account and login details | Deleted | Within 30 days |
| Child profiles: first name, age, date of birth | Deleted | Within 30 days |
| Assessment answers and results | Deleted | Within 30 days |
| Activity and progress records | Deleted | Within 30 days |
| Daily logs: sleep, naps, meals, nappies | Deleted | Within 30 days |
| Email address and mailing list entry | Deleted | Within 30 days |
| Copies held in encrypted backups | Deleted as backups rotate | Within 90 days |
| Consultation records held by a doctor you booked | Kept by that professional | Under their own obligations |
| Anonymised counts with nothing identifying in them | Kept | Indefinitely |
Why two of those rows are not deleted
If you booked a consultation, the professional you saw keeps their own clinical record of that session. That record belongs to them and they are required to retain it, so it is outside what Kidora can remove. To ask about it, contact that professional directly.
We also keep counts that carry nothing identifying, such as how many assessments were completed in a month. These cannot be traced back to you or your child.
If you want to keep your child's report, email it to yourself from the app first. Once the grace period ends there is no copy left to recover, on your side or ours.
Does uninstalling the app delete my data?
No. Removing the app from your phone deletes it from that device only. Your account and your child's records stay on our servers until you delete the account or ask us to. Use one of the two routes above.
Questions about deletion
Common questions
How long does deletion take?
Your account stops working immediately. Data is removed from our live systems within 30 days and from encrypted backups within 90 days.
Can I get my account back?
Only inside the 30 day grace period, by signing back in. After that the data is gone and cannot be restored.
Can I delete one child instead of my whole account?
Yes. In the app, open that child's profile and remove it. This deletes their assessments, activities and logs while leaving your account and any other children intact.
Do I need the app to request deletion?
No. Email [email protected] from your registered address and we will handle it.
Is there a charge?
No. Deletion is free and you do not have to give a reason.
What if I only want to stop the emails?
Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any Kidora email. That stops the emails and leaves your account and your child's progress in place.
